ABOUT SUE
Putting My Experience
to Work
After 24 years teaching high school Social Studies in the Vista Unified School District and almost 2 years of retirement, I have decided to return to education and campaign for the Area 5 Trustee seat on the Vista Unified School Board. Students have always been my priority and always will be. I am passionate about public education, absolutely enjoyed my career as a teacher and want to bring my experience and knowledge to the VUSD School Board.
During my years in VUSD, I was actively involved as a site leader. In this capacity, I engaged with site administration and staff to problem solve, mitigate conflict and support our school site's collaborative environment as we engaged in educating our students, being always mindful of supporting “the whole student” (emotional, mental, and physical well-being in addition to academic success).
As a result of years in this capacity, I was fortunate to forge relationships with staff at various school sites as well as district office personnel expanding my knowledge of district policies and procedures, employee contracts and budgeting.
I will continue to be the voice for those who feel unheard and work to rebuild trust within our VUSD community. I hope you will join me as we embark on an era of change that supports our students, families, staff and community members.
If elected, I commit to do all I can to make VUSD the best place to learn and the best place to work!
I ask for your vote on November 5th for Vista Unified School District Trustee, Area 5.
